Pictures from Glade Weimer's Collection
Sent by Dennis Weimer
Most of these pictures were sent to me by Dennis Weimer.
They are from the Ray Otis Weimer branch of the family taken from 1890 through
1947. This collection also includes pictures of George Weimer and Laura Lyman
Weimer.
A point of confusion as we have sorted through the family
history in Roulette has been, "How did George Weimer come to die in Canton,
NY?" Denny's information has helped us clear that up. There are four George
Weimers:
- George Weimer, Sr.,
our original immigrant ancestor. Lived and died in Roulette.
- George Weimer, Jr.,
who married Laura Lyman and lived and died on Sartwell Creek.
- George
W. Weimer, son of Michael and Rebecca (Barr) Weimer who married Susie
Knight, lived in Roulette and Caton, NY. He died there and is buried in Elmwood
Cemetery there. After his death, Susie returned to Potter County and lived
with her son, Elno until her death. She is buried in Hill Cemetery in Roulette.
- George W. Weimer,
son of Otis and Hulda (Johnson) Weimer who married Bell Crocker and died in
Binghamton, NY. George and Bell are buried in Maple Grove Cemetery in Shinglehouse.
Glade's collection contains pictures of two of the Georges.
Identified Pictures contains pictures of the other two.
